Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)

Connects IT and OT together for real-time data exchange

IIoT is a part of larger concept known as Internet of Things (IoT). IoT is a network of intelligent computers, devices, objects that collect and share huge amounts of data. The collected data is sent to a central network or cloud based services where it is aggregated with the other data and then shared with end-users.

Cantier IIoT Gateway establishes the communication among systems and devices using specific OPC, UPC UA, SECS/GEM Drivers. Through this communication, MES Application modules and Equipment controllers or Equipment PCs are exchanging data for real-time controls and necessary alerts when there are out of controls such Equipment Breakdown parameters, Recipe Parameters, quality parameters and others. IIoT helps to collect the data from various type of devices across factories and store the manufacturing big data over the cloud or network repositories to facilitate predictive and big data analysis.

In the past, data collections were made through an application that is connected directly to the equipment. This made it difficult to scale and is not user-friendly. Cantier IIoT combined with the MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) protocol, we can easily connect Shop-floor and field devices at the edge of the network, and push data from thousands of devices across factories. MQTT is a lightweight, bidirectional, stateful, and secured protocol, and a preferred data-transfer protocol for the IIoT. Through MQTT, information is efficiently distributed, it dramatically reduces the network bandwidth usage and increases scalability.
